The explosion of a homemade device cost the life yesterday Wednesday morning to several personalities including the Sub-Divisional Officer and the Mayor of Ekondo Titi in the English-speaking region.
A bomb attack against the convoy of the mayor of Ekondo Titi, in the Ndian Division, South West region of Cameroon, left six people dead and several injured on Wednesday, local authorities learned.
Confirming this deadly attack, Mark Bareta, separatist leader attacked the Yaoundé regime. “These colonial officers are the direct agents of Biya’s annexation policy. Ambazonia forces are securing the ground,” he wrote. “The convoy of the mayor and the sub-Divisional Officer was on a socio-economic tour when their vehicle ran over an explosive device around Bekora, a locality located in the district of Ekondo-Titi”, indicated to Cameroon ACTU Online, the Divisional Officer of the Division of Ndian, Gilbert Guibai Baldena, specifying that the attack took place around noon (local time).
On November 24, three students and a teacher were killed in another bomb attack in Ekondo Titi. “Faced with such loss of life, it is essential that the government guarantees an effective investigation, not only so that the victims can obtain justice, but also to discourage future attacks and strengthen the protection of the law to life and and to education; the NGO of Human Rights Watch said the day after the attack.
