Artist-musician Ben Decca is no longer the new director of operations for Leopard Sportif de Douala. Appointed on Friday, August 21, 2020, the singer-songwriter and performer was dismissed from his post on Friday, October 15, 2021 according to a press release signed by Ekoube Richard, PCA of the club. In a letter addressed to the president of the Leopard France association residing in Paris, His Majesty Frédéric James Ekwalla Essaka II asks the recipient of the correspondence “to make all the necessary arrangements for the Leopard’s engagement in the professional championship and the registration of players and coaches on behalf of the 2021-2022 sports season ”. These tasks had previously been the responsibility of the renowned artist musician.
The board of directors headed by Richard Elokan dismissed him from his duties on Friday, arguing that he did not communicate with his authority, that he did not have good results, did not respect the specifications . The council also deplored the “lack of traceability on the finances of the club”. On his appointment, Ben Decca, son of the canton of Deido, had been assigned as a goal: “the rise of Leopard Sportif de Douala in the first division”. But the goal was not reached. The club having found themselves at the end of the season fighting not to go down in division.
Ben Decca had become one of the few Cameroonian musicians after Petit-Pays and Dinaly to lead a football club. They had been respectively at the head of Caiman Club of Douala and Dynamo Football Club of Douala.
