In a press release dated April 23, 2025, the Minister of Basic Education, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa, informed his ministry’s regional delegates that the registration deadline for exams and competitive exams has been extended to June 9, 2025.

These exams include the First School Leaving Certificate (F.S.L.C.) and the Common entrance exam. The government member justified this extension with the aim of “allowing students Class 6 to take these exams and competitive exams after being identified during the second phase of the special catch-up operation for birth registration in schools, which took place on March 25, 2025.”

In short, Minister Etoundi Ngoa is extending this deadline for students who have had birth certificates since the end of March. This is the second extension of the deadline for the admissibility of applications for the 2025 session. Initially set for December 2024, this deadline was extended for the first time to February 28, 2025, “due to the numbers falling short of the expected numbers,” the minister justified in a press release dated December 16, 2024.
