This is following a collision between a jumbo jet and an urban transport vehicle.
The tragedy occurred on December 15 in the regional capital of the Southwest. According to media sources, a huge fog caused by smoke from a household waste destruction depot was the cause of the collision between a jumbo jet and an urban transport vehicle.
This smoke would have reduced visibility on the roadway, making traffic very difficult preventing the driver of the jumbo jet who was driving towards downtown Buea from seeing the urban transport vehicle which was driving in the opposite direction with six people on board.
The collision was fatal for five people including the driver of the small vehicle, a pregnant woman, another and her baby and a young girl. A sixth passenger is said to have escaped unscathed from the accident.
