It was celebrated in the Eastern Region on the 1st of March 2023.
In the region, structures like the NGO Nascent Solutions are implementing school feeding through the Food For Education And Child Nutrition project initiated by the USDA. Specifically, at Gbakombo public school, Bertoua 1st district where the celebrations took place.
Here, the project has, among other things, reduced the dropout rate and improved performance. Nearly ten thousand students in the region benefit from the program.
The African Day of School Feeding, celebrated on March 1st, reaches its Eighth edition in 2023. Since 2016, the date has contributed to strengthening home-grown school feeding through high-level debates, including public and private officials, civil society and international organizations.
