They justify their support by the desire of the ex-captain of the Indomitable Lions to bring together and improve the conditions of Cameroonian football players.
The non-profit association called the Cameroonian Union of Amateur Football Clubs (Uccaf) supports Samuel Eto’o Fils in the electoral process leading to the election of the new president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) . In the letter it sent to the concerned on November 15, Uccaf said that Eto’o’s candidacy is one capable of restoring the image of Cameroonian football.
“Today, the fate of our football is at a crossroads, and after consultation with the vast majority of our 824 members, the flagship association of amateur football in Cameroon has decided to lend its unwavering support to your candidacy; which, from our point of view, presents the best guarantees to restore the image of our football, ”writes John Balock, president of the Cameroonian Union of Amateur Football Clubs (UCCAF).
