The 1st Moudang International Festival of Arts and Culture was put under the mat on yesterday Friday, April 27, 2024 in Kaélé. Chaired by Jacques Blaise Nkene, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Arts and Culture, the celebrations took place from April 24-27, 2024 Co-organized by the Kaélé City Hall and the Moudang Culture Renaissance Association (RCM), this cultural event has the main objective of celebrating the richness and cultural diversity of the Moudang people living in southwest Chad, north and far north Cameroon.
According to the promoter of this festival, namely Pierre Hélé, Minister of the Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development, “the objective sought through this festival is to revive the Moudang people who have today lost their landmarks.” It is a matter of giving back or better yet, of reviving Moudang the rules of nobility, virtue and quality that previously identified him,” he explains. However, it is important to note that the organization of the 1st Moudang International Arts and Culture Festival has not been a smooth river, several twists aimed at disrupting the event. But “these haters were very quickly apprehended by law enforcement and they will answer to the law,” says promoter Pierre Hélé.
