The incident took place after Mali lost 81-68 to Serbia in their Group B clash in Sydney on Monday.

Two Malian basketball players got into a fistfight after their team lost against Serbia on Monday in the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup.

A Serbian TV channel was conducting an interview with Serbian shooting guard Sasa Cado after the win in Sydney. During the interview, several Malian players were on the edge of the media zone, but two of them were fighting.

As the channel filmed the fight, Cado seemed to be shocked and stepped back.

Other Malian players managed to break up the fight.

The African team has been eliminated from the World Cup as Mali lost all four of their matches in Group B.

Canada, France, hosts Australia and Serbia from Group B qualified for the quarterfinals.

On Tuesday, Mali will face leaders Canada as the group phase will end.
