The work will be held at the Congress Palace in Yaoundé from December 14 to 15, thanks to the African Business Organization (ODEA).

“Promoting investments in the energy sector in Africa. Key lever for growth, wealth creation and economic transformation; It is under this theme that the very first International Symposium on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development in Africa(CIEDDA) will be held in Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital.

The objective of the Cameroonian government through its Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (Minpmeesa) and ODEA is to attract researchers, practitioners, decision makers from companies and institutions sensitive to economic and management issues, involving entrepreneurial ecosystems, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development.

Based on foreign and national experiences, the CIIEDDA will highlight the contribution of business ecosystems to the promotion of innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship in Cameroon. It also aims to take a global position and to be an opportunity to stimulate debate and exchanges between practitioners around themes related, among other things, to innovation.

The CIIEDDA will be organized in a context where social challenges continue to increase in the African continent, with incessant economic changes. The unemployment rate continues to grow among graduates and the search for innovative ways has become a major concern for African States, as well as for many socio-economic actors.

According to figures from the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Cameroon, the unemployment rate increased by 6.1% in 2021 compared to 2020. An increase according to the INS due in part to the spread of the pandemic of Covid-19 around the world. The overall unemployment rate then stood at 65% over the same period, but down 4 points compared to 2020.
