Saudi authorities have set the fine for non-compliance with the provisions of Hajj 2025 at 16,000,000 CFA francs.

The announcement was made on April 9 by the Consul General of Cameroon in Jeddah, El Hadj Nji Oumarou Nchare. As part of this season, the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah has set the entry and exit deadlines for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. The entry deadline for Umrah pilgrims is April 13, 2025, corresponding to the 15th of Sha’wal, 1446H. The departure deadline is April 29, 2025, corresponding to the 1st of Du Al-Qaeda, 1446H. “Any failure to comply with these deadlines will be considered a violation of applicable laws and will result in legal sanctions,” the Saudi minister stated.

In a statement dated April 9, El Hadj Nji Oumarou Nchare called on “pilgrims, travel agencies, and Umrah organizing organizations to strictly adhere to these deadlines.” He also urged Cameroonian pilgrims and supporting organizations to be vigilant and responsible in order to avoid any inconvenience related to non-compliance with applicable regulations.

In Cameroon, preparations have been well underway since the beginning of 2025. Hajj officials have already set the price for the group trip, subsidized by the Head of State. To perform the Hajj this year, Cameroonian pilgrims will have to pay the sum of 3,262,620 CFA francs. “This amount cannot therefore be subject to any modification,” indicated the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, in a press release published on March 8, 2025.
