Masked during his return to Yaoundé, is Paul Biya setting an example?

Paul et Chantal Biya

This is the first time that the Head of State has been seen with this tool for protection against COVID-19.

Paul Biya, his wife Chantal and the suite accompanying them returned to Cameroon on Monday August 16, 2021, after a stay of more than a month in Geneva (Switzerland).

This is an extremely rare event! President Paul Biya, who returned to Yaoundé on Monday with the First Lady, wore an anti-covid face mask. Since the outbreak of the virus, President Biya has very rarely appeared masked during his international hearings and trips. Dressed in a dark suit, the tenant of the Etoudi Palace wore a white mask, identical to that of the First Lady, Chantal Biya who was at his side.

No doubt a desire to preach by good example while the World Health Organization warns of the risk of a third wave of Coronavirus in Africa, more dangerous than the first two.
