The head of government will chair on September 22, 2021, the work relating to the recommendations of the National Dialogue.
Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute was received on September 21, 2021 at the South West regional headquarters in Buea by the region’s highest elite. In the South West, the Prime Minister will consult with the region’s elite, journalists and traditional leaders on ways to better implement the resolutions of the 2019 Grand National Dialogue.
Prime Minister Dion Ngute arrives in the region amid growing tensions between soldiers and separatist fighters in the North West region, with 15 soldiers killed in separate attacks last week, according to official reports.
Indeed, from September 30 to October 4, 2019, the national dialogue was held under the coordination of Chief Joseph Dion Ngute. At the end of the said meeting, recommendations were taken as solutions to the Anglophone crisis that erupted in 2021.
If the recommendations are applied over time, the fact remains that the crisis continues with atrocities committed recently to Cameroonian soldiers and civilians in Kumbo and Bamessing in the North West region.
