Sonacam announces retaliation against artists who “promote obscenities” in their music

Meeting for the first time on July 27 in Yaoundé, the members of the Ethics, Discipline and Arbitration Committee of the Cameroonian National Society of Musical Art (Sonacam) hinted that soon measures will be taken to stop the promotion of obscene words and actions in Cameroonian song.

Between 50,000 and 1,000,000 FCFA in fines and legal proceedings for artists whose content promotes obscenities. This is one of the decisions taken during the first working session of the ethics, discipline and arbitration committee of the Cameroon National Society of Musical Art (SONACAM).

Meeting for the first time on July 27 in Yaoundé, the members of the Ethics, Discipline and Arbitration Committee of Sonacam suggested that soon measures will be taken to stop the promotion of obscene words and actions in Cameroonian song. .

The sanctions can go as far as the complete eradication of the Sonacam artist. You lose all your rights as an artist that goes from 50,000 to 1,000,000 fine […] we even have the right to sue you ”, alerted the president of the said Committee Marthe Ngo Mouaha known as Dinaly at the microphone of our colleagues from Canal 2 international.
